TIE Global Artisans : Tradition. Innovation. Entrepreneurship.

As a signature program of PYXERA Global, TIE Global Artisans has the ability to change the lives and livelihoods of artisans around the world. TIE Global Artisans embodies the values of tradition, innovation, and entrepreneurship and beginning our engagements with the talented Kente and Smock cloth weavers of Ghana, we aspire to alleviate poverty among millions of indigenous artisans around the world.

Our approach involves a commitment to equitably invest in artisans, viewing them as entrepreneurial partners. We're dedicated to enhancing the potential of top tier weaving enterprises and connecting their unique creations with today's conscious brands and consumers.

Sadly, due to the harmful impacts of predatory globalization, coupled with inadequate access to premium materials and fragmented supply chains, many artisanal communities despite their rich cultural legacies and unparalleled skills are on the brink of vanishing. It's our mission to reverse this trend and champion the cause of these artisans.

With your support, we can change this trajectory.

Together, we will be able to further our work with weavers in three of the most historical and culture-rich communities in Ghana - the Ashanti, Volta, and Northern regions, and provide them with the materials they need to hand-make textiles and products; create a sustainable and ethical supply chain; and identify and create market linkages around the world.

At the same time, we will invest in our educative programs which center on three pillars:

  • Craftpersonship: focus on upskilling artisans in business, finance, and digital literacy; innovations in loom architecture, product design, and production methods; and entrepreneurship.
  • Community: focus on education around socio-economic issues including health and wellbeing, gender parity, and youth engagement.
  • Commerce: focus on de-risking the supply and value chains; integrating circular fashion and sustainability; ensuring workplace safety; and market linkages and access to conscious, high-end fashion and textile designers.

TIE Global Artisans is a systems-change effort anchored by PYXERA Global with partnerships from artisans and industry experts in India, the U.S., and several countries across Africa. TIE is grounded in the principle that global progress happens at the community level. People are the solution, not the problem, and through agency and equitable access to resources, people can overcome challenges, and even thrive in today’s world. Communities are the sanctuaries within which individuals and families grow and transfer wealth and prosperity. When communities are invigorated around a shared purpose and humanity, systemic change is possible.
